Colton + Ruqqia | Destination Wedding to Margaritaville Resort Lake of the Ozarks | KB Photos & Design

Ruqqia and Colton got married in paradise, right in the heart of Missouri! One from the Chicago area and one from Arkansas, they wanted to choose a midway point wedding venue for their friends and family to join them. The beautiful all-inclusive Margaritaville Lake Resort offered the perfect mix of lake and golf fun for their friends and family to enjoy all weekend long.

Ruqqia and Colton included so many special touches to their day, including traditional henna artistry, flowers made by the bride's close friend, and fall decor throughout. They had a very special First Look as bride and groom, and then their best friends joined them for photos at the golf course.

It was the perfect way to say I Do as they wed at Sunset Point overlooking the water, surrounded by their closest friends and family. After a grand entrance, dinner, and cake cutting at JB's Boathouse, we snuck away for a few minutes to take some gorgeous bride and groom photos by the pool and on the lake docks at sunset. These might be my favorite photos of the day.

What a perfect wedding day in paradise, and I’m so glad I was a part of it. Congrats to Ruqqia and Colton - here’s to many years of happiness and love!

Ethan + Baylee | Capital Bluffs Engagement Session in Jefferson City Missouri | KB Photos & Design

Ethan and Baylee are so stinkin’ CUTE! They met while Baylee was a cashier at their local Menards Store. Apparently Ethan thought Baylee was cute and starting asking around to see if she was interested, but Baylee did not return the affection at first! Now, they have an ease with one another that comes from years of dating and enduring love between them. Good thing Ethan kept up the pursuit!

It was such a pleasure to photograph their engagement session at the beautiful Capital Bluffs Event Center in Jefferson City, Missouri (thanks Capital Bluffs!). We had so many choices for backdrops when taking their engagement photos, including beautiful rolling golf course hills, lakes galore, and a magnificent willow tree on the grounds, in addition to the Capital Bluffs Event Center wedding venue space. Ethan also owns an old truck that he loves to work on and drive, and they decided to incorporate that into their engagement photos. When in doubt, I say couples should ALWAYS bring the vintage truck to your engagement shoot! Parts of yourselves - hobbies, family heirlooms, shared interests - are wonderful things to work into your session.

These two are going to blessed by wonderful friends and family on their wedding day, and I could not be more joyful for them. I am SO excited to be part of their day and photograph their wedding next Fall!

Daniel + Abbi | Destination Wedding to Margaritaville Resort Lake of the Ozarks | KB Photos & Design

What started as a date at Panera has turned into a beautiful love story for Daniel and Abbi. But it almost didn’t turn out that way! When bride Abbi retells their love story, she insists that he was hours late to their first date because of his job (Daniel is in the military) and she almost cancelled…but she’s SO glad she didn’t! When Daniel proposed, he left a trail of rose petals and had “Marry Me” written on the ground with candles.

Our bride and groom knew they wanted an outdoor summer wedding. The view sold them on Margaritaville Lake Resort in Osage Beach, Missouri. As soon as they got to Sunset Point, both knew then and there that this was where they wanted to exchange vows. It was also important to them to have a fun place for their friends and family to stay together. Their destination wedding checked both boxes! And what fun they all had. I was laughing right with them through their wedding day from start to finish.

They had a special First Look on the balcony overlooking the Lake. First Looks always get me teary-eyed! Then we headed up to the golf course to capture all the wedding party fun.

Through the sprinkles of rain drops, their ceremony at Sunset Point was beautiful and full of love and buzzing boats in the background. Then we headed to their reception for some heartfelt speeches from friends and parents, and a donut cutting.

Adventurous couples are my jam, and I was pumped to head to the boat docks in the evening for romantic bride and groom portraits. I noticed that there was a huge boat docked, and I got an idea. I think my words were “Are you feeling adventurous?” When they said yes, we played the bride card and asked the sweet owners of the boat for permission to take some photos on the bow. These might be my favorite pictures of the night!

It was an amazing summer wedding day at the beautiful Margaritaville Lake Resort with these two lovebirds and I couldn’t be happier for them. Congratulations to Abbi and Daniel on your wedded bliss!

Devon + Gabbie | Engagement Session at the Jefferson City Governors Gardens | KB Photos & Design

Gabbie and Devon are the BEST! I met bride-to-be Gabbie while at the Jefferson City Bridal Expo, and we hit it right off. I knew she was going to be fun, sweet, adventurous, and wildly in love with her fiancé Devon, and I was right!

We explored downtown Jefferson City Missouri together while taking beautiful photos of their engagement. Starting at the river overlook spot, the future Mr + Mrs made our way to the State Capitol steps with its marble walls and big, beautiful white columns. Then we headed to the Governor’s Gardens just down the road, full of blooming flowers and lush greenery. I felt a bit like we had hopped a jet and traveled to an Italian garden - Carnahan Memorial Gardens never disappoint! The whole time, Devon and Gabbie were relaxed, full of laughter, and enjoying being in love. See some of my favorite images from their session below.

This engagement session was Part 1 of their photos. We have plans to do a Part 2 fall engagement session out at Devon’s family farm. I love when couples choose locations that are meaningful to them and their future family.

These two are the cutest (and kindest) engaged couple and I am SO excited to photograph their wedding next fall at Fox Hollow Weddings and Events!
