This summer I had the privilege of photographing a beautiful intimate wedding at The Lodge of Four Seasons for the sweetest couple. Bride Alexis called me in early spring, and as soon as we started talking I knew we’d hit it off. She and her fiance Nathan were planning a laid-back destination wedding to the Lake of the Ozarks from three hours drive away in Kahoka, Missouri, and they needed a photographer. I was so glad they found me, and we quickly started planning every detail of their ceremony and special day. A few months later, they married in the serene Japanese Gardens at The Lodge of Four Seasons, with a beautiful lake view in the background. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Nathan and Alexis said I Do.

Congratulations Danisha and Cem on your beautiful lakeside wedding! These two weren't going to let covid get them down when their destination to Florida was cancelled, so they opted for the next (or maybe the first?) best thing - getting married at the Lake of the Ozarks, central Missouri’s premium destination location! These two planned a wedding celebration at the family lake home on the Big Island in Roach, MO and invited their closest friends and family to share in their day as they tied the knot.

Highlights included the hum of boats in the background as they said their vows, the adorable family dog, taking a golf cart around the island, that sun-kissed glow as we captured the final moments of sunset for couples photos, and of course this sweet couple who welcomed me into their family for the day. Jeff + Kayla | Lake of the Ozarks Destination Wedding in Sunrise Beach Missouri | KB Photos & Design

Jeff and Kayla have been dreaming for months about their destination wedding to the Lake of the Ozarks, and boy did it deliver! They came down from Kansas City for the weekend and rented a gorgeous VRBO lake house in Sunset Beach. The couple was out on a boat all day enjoying the water, and came back just in time to get married at sunset with their immediate family close by. It was the perfect relaxed lake vibes wedding, and I was so glad to capture it all!

Also, adventurous couples who jump into paddle boats in their wedding clothes to get that perfect shot...those are my kind of people. Congrats Jeff & Kayla on your beautiful lake wedding!

Curtis and Ashley | Destination Wedding to Dreams Resort in Tulum Mexico | KB Photos & Design

What an honor to capture the wedding day and festivities for Ashley and Curtis. They are truly some of the best humans you will ever meet! Both were good friends of mine in high school, but one from my school and one from my church. My worlds collided when I found out my friends were dating - and going to get married! 

It's a real treat for me to photograph a wedding where I know the bride and groom so well. And what they really wanted was to get married in paradise, surrounded by their closest friends and family. I was ever so happy to pack up my exhaustive camera bags and every charger I could find, and get on an early flight out of the country to Dreams Resort in Tulum, Mexico.

I spent five days in all in the beautiful sub-tropical sunshine of Tulum, Mexico. There were plenty of notable experiences during this trip, but my favorite part was photographing this lovely couple on their big day. They are so comfortable with each other and with others, their laughter is contagious, and their love is authentic and uplifting.
