Luka + Ana | Lake of the Ozarks Missouri Spring Engagement | KB Photos & Design

These two are Engagement Session GOALS. And their story is even better! Luka and Ana met while on college athletic scholarships to Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, Missouri - he from Serbia, she from Brazil. They have been dating for several years now and recently graduated. Luka planned for MONTHS a weekend getaway trip for them to Lake of the Ozarks this spring. They both love to travel and had never been to the mid Missouri part of the state. He booked a little VRBO cabin at the Old Swiss Village in Osage Beach that overlooks the main channel. Beautiful spot! Luka popped the question during their getaway, and then I came the next day to take photos.

We ventured to Lake of the Ozarks State Park for some beautiful photos on the docks as the rain clouds were moving out. Then we went back to the Old Swiss Village, and the sky cleared so we could catch the last few moments of sunset over the water. I’m so glad I was able to be part of this couple’s story and capture their first moments as a newly engaged couple. Congratulations Luka and Ana!

Matt + Tricia | Jefferson City Missouri Wedding and Capital Ritz Reception | KB Photos & Design

Matt and Tricia got married on a beautiful spring day in Jefferson City, Missouri and my face STILL HURTS from all of the SMILING! Now backstory - bride Tricia is a Methodist pastor with my husband Andy, so we know each other fairly well. It’s a real blessing to be a part of your friend’s weddings when they get married, and I feel SO blessed to have been asked to be their wedding photographer and to have been a part of this beautiful day.

The day started with everyone getting ready at Wesley United Methodist Church where the ceremony would be held. Tricia has a generous and thoughtful spirit and gifted every member of her wedding party with a special gift just for them, including Build-A-Bears for the kids and jewelry for the mother-in-laws. One of my favorite moments was when her dad gifted her with a pence coin and “runaway money” in her shoe in case she decided not to go through with the marriage - classic dad move! The wedding ceremony was beautiful and brought tears to my eyes. The officiant, Pastor Bob Cassidy, had baptized Tricia as a baby, and it was special that he could marry Matt and Tricia. As you can see from the photos, Matt was pretty pumped to be married to Tricia!

The rain cleared just in time and we headed into family photos to capture all of the family members that had traveled to witness their marriage. They both have big, beautiful families that shared in their special day. Then we took a quick photo trip to the Carnahan Memorial Garden (Governor’s Gardens) and Amtrak station in downtown Jefferson City with their wedding party in tow. Their wedding party was so fun! We high tailed it back to the Capital Ritz Event Center for dinner and specialty cupcakes. Toasts from the best man and maid of honor (complete with signs!) were so fun and had the whole room erupting with laughter. The party continued with first dances, the chicken dance (fan favorite), wedding anniversary dance, garter toss and bouquet toss. Tricia was sure to gather up a lot of flowers to look like a bouquet and then toss them so every girl could go home with a flower from their wedding. No detail was forgotten!

I’m so happy for these two (plus their daughter Amyliah!) and wish them a life of happiness and love! Cheers to the newlyweds.

Dan + Emily | Missouri Engagement at Seven Springs Winery | KB Photos & Design

These two are the cutest! Emily and Dan’s love story began about 7 years ago. Both from the St. Louis, Missouri area, they have been enjoying their weekends at Lake of the Ozarks at their family’s home. Knowing they want to celebrate in true Lake fashion, they’ve been planning a destination wedding to Margaritaville Lake Resort this fall (it’s so fun when couples make their wedding day into a friends and family getaway vacation for loved ones!).

We traveled to the beautiful Seven Springs Winery in Linn Creek, Missouri for their engagement session. After quite a few thunderstorms and a lot of prayers, the sky cleared just in time for their photoshoot among the vineyard’s grape vines. What a gorgeous scene. They even brought their dog Nellie for a few photos. She was the sweetest.

I am so excited to photograph their wedding at Margaritaville in October!

Dylan | High School Senior Photography | KB Photos & Design

Dylan’s senior photo experience was amazing! We started in the downtown square to capture some urban vibes and brick backgrounds. Then with a truck bed of equipment and sheer determination, we got over the potholes and bumps to the top of Lover’s Leap and it was worth it for the amazing miles wide view of the lake. Congratulations Dylan on your graduation - wishing you the best on your next steps in life!
